Ross Abelow, a very well known lawyer in the New York area, is on a mission to save as many animals as he can. On January 13th, 2016, Abelow launched a new fundraiser to benefit the many homeless animals throughout the city. He started things off small with the initial goal of raising $5000.
All money will be used to help care for animals who have been left out in the cold during the winter months. Shelters will be able to use the funds for things such as blankets, food, medical care and anything else they need to care for homeless and vulnerable animals.
If you have ever been to New York in the winter, you know the weather can be very cold and rigid. Animals can literally freeze to death if left out too long.
The problem is many animal owners, who without a doubt love their animals, often find themselves in tough situations and unable to properly care for their animals. Instead of taking them to a shelter, which is the best option, many will simply leave the animal out in the cold.
Abelow hopes his fundraiser can help prevent animals from dying due to being left out in the cold. And though this is a tall task, if we all work together we can prevent thousands of animals from dying during the coldest months of the year.
